OCBJ Leader Board: Preserving the Endless Summer
May 1, 2025

The Surf Heritage and Culture Center (SHACC) was opened in 1999 by Dick Metz and a group of founding partners. It moved to San Clemente in 2004 and over the years has been referred to as the “Smithsonian” for the surf culture. SHACC is now in the process of moving to within walking distance of the Pacific Ocean. For more information about SHACC and its founder Dick Metz, read “Preserving the Endless Summer” on the OC Leaderboard page of the 28 April 2025 issue of Orange County Business Journal.
