Fresh Faces on the Advisory Committee, Media Spotlight, and Key Moments from 2023

Warm Welcome to our Newest Advisory Committee Members

OC World is delighted to welcome Keith Swayne, Dr. Jeannie G. Kim, Stephen O’Leary, Andy Horowitz, and Marshall Kaplan to its Advisory Committee.

Keith Swayne has served on various private company and non-profit boards, including chairing the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) and Charitable Ventures. In 2022, he established the Orange County Social Justice Fund with OCCF. Dr. Jeannie G. Kim is the newly appointed president of Santiago Canyon College. Dr. Kim excels in succession planning, organizational infrastructure, and cultural shifts. Stephen O’Leary is Founder/President of O’Leary and Partners Advertising Agency, and a “devoted philanthropist.” Andy Horowitz is a 20-year telecommunications entrepreneur and founding member of Innovators OC, a non-profit that invests in innovative ways to create self-sustaining enterprises. And Marshall Kaplan has served as a key advisor to HUD across four Presidential Administrations, focusing on poverty remedies and affordable housing. Learn more about our Advisory Committee here.

2023 Highlights

OC World is proud to have received numerous awards in 2023: “Hope Dies Last,” which focused on the impact of Alzheimer’s disease on California communities, awarded a Golden Mike for Best Long Form Programming or Documentary at the 73rd Annual Golden Mike Awards; and “Coastal Crisis: California’s Vanishing Beaches” which received a Best of Festival award at the Los Angeles Film & Script Festival.

OC World celebrated its two-year anniversary by honoring key supporters and friends at The Cove UCI. The event featured presentations on the country’s media landscape, showcased programs and testimonials, and recognized major sponsors and underwriters. The evening also unveiled new programs focused on financial literacy and Orange County history. View our event photo gallery here.

OC World’s latest programs include Champions for Education, showcasing the unlimited possibilities of the TGR Foundation, the Singleton Foundation for Financial Literacy and Entrepreneurship, and Surviving the Cycle of Relationship Violence, which delves into the challenges, experiences, and resources for those affected by relationship violence.
