OC World guest host Gaddi Vasquez dives into a new poll conducted by UCI’s School of Social Ecology that suggests the next Congress could well hinge on how Orange County residents vote, and in particular Latino/Hispanic and Asian voters.

OC World Wins Another Telly Award!

OC World wins Bronze for “Surviving the Trauma of Relationship Violence” in the category of General-Public Interest & Awareness at this year’s Annual Telly Awards. The program features Maricela Rios-Faust, CEO of Human Options, an Orange County agency serving victims and survivors of Relationship Violence. This program focuses on the experiences of those who lived through the cycle, and in some case, the intergenerational impact which leaves lingering trauma for victims and their children.

OC World Welcomes UCI Student Fellows!

Through a strategic partnership with UCI’s SAGE Scholars program, OC World welcomes student fellows Jordyn Falloon and Jasmine Gutierrez. The program is intended to give students hands-on experiences in the creation of multimedia content. Jordyn and Jasmine will have the opportunity to research, write, film, and edit content for production on KLCS-PBS.

Jasmine Gutierrez is an undergraduate, fourth-year Public Health Policy major at University of California, Irvine (UCI). She is a student with the Student Achievement Guided by Experience (SAGE) Scholars program at UCI, in addition to being in the Campus-wide Honors Collegium and the Public Health Honors program. She has also worked in health administration doing human centered design and has provided multimodal applied behavior analysis therapy to children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. In her free time, she is a research volunteer for the American Red Cross Club at UCI.
