George Pla was honored this year with the Spirit Award by California’s Latino Caucus for Achievement in Business and Philanthropy. He is also an immigrant who fled to the U.S. with his family in the “cover of darkness,” and yet he has realized the American Dream. He is the co-author of a seminal book describing the power shifts of Latino Politics.
